The Importance of Professionalism, Honesty, & Integrity in the ID World

Professionalism, honesty, and integrity are hallmarks of the kind of work I want to create for businesses and organizations. I have always valued professionalism in my career and how I present myself, and this blog post will explore different examples of this.
Ethical behavior is what drives positive interactions with employees and stakeholders. As a beginner instructional designer, I will show future employers how my ethical behavior drives quality work by meeting deadlines, following through on agreed-upon tasks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders. In terms of honesty, that may look like acknowledging my limitations or when I may need to collaborate more with a team in order to deliver a quality product.
In terms of other important professional strengths, I value myself on being a diligent and focused worker. I will ensure my work gets done and that I deliver a quality project that is representive of what stakeholders were expecting. I also believe that I have strong communication skills. I am able to accurately articulate plans, questions, and ideas to ensure the scope of a project is understood and that stakeholders feel comfortable with me completing a job to their standards.
Ultimately, the field of instructional design is one that blends knowledge with processes and quality outcomes to ensure engaging learning. Professionalism, honesty, and integrity are specific qualities that help to create powerful and meaningful learning.
