PYP Foundations eLearning Module
Audience: New-hire elementary teachers
Learning Needs/Problem: A school district in Colorado has select schools throughout elementary, middle, and high school that implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) program; more specifically the Primary Years Program (PYP) at the elementary level. Because this program is not common throughout most districts in the area, schools within this district realized that teachers that were newly hired often did not have IB teaching experience. In an attempt to better equip new teachers with the knowledge needed to teach in an IB school and to not overwhelm them with the many new trainings and required inductions that are often in -person or after school hours, this eLearning module was created to lay the foundation of teaching in a PYP school.
